My father is a study in stubborness. The stereotype of men never going to the doctor is my dad.
A few years ago he stubbed his pinky toe and broke it. It turned black. We forced him to go see the doctor.
After the visit he came back with a round of antibiotics.
First round didn’t do much so he went back and got on two different antibiotics.
Once that was finished it, his toe was still black and it had spread to his neighboring toes.
To be fair to my dad, his doctor was terrible.
After literal weeks of begging him to go to the ER he finally did.
Fast forward to his diagnosis – gangrene had set in due to a blockage in his leg. He lost four toes.
