I love anything miniature. I started painting these small portraits as a way to just paint something. I hit a pretty bad creative block and this was a way to work through it.

For some reason I just couldn’t paint with oils anymore. I can’t explain it. There is something so intimidating and upsetting about starting a painting. Will it work? Will it suck? I just don’t know until I begin. Even half way through the process I’ll hate it then push through until I love it.

I think I’ll create a post of all the paintings I’ve started and abandoned because I messed them up. On the bright side I know I can pick them up again and work on them. I am fairly certain most artists or creative people hit a block once in a while.
